Why Google still rules

I wanted to know a simple thing - How I can get the address of an object in Python? So I queried Google as usual and the first link took me to the answer - bulls eye! Check it out! Something made me to ask the exact same query in other search engines like Yahoo, Ask, Clusty and MSN! - I did it! And you want to know what happened? Check out for yourself what the other search engines returned to me. No wonder "Page Rank" and "Relevance" rocks! (click on the images to enlarge them).

Caveat: MSN returned the next best results - looks like MS is really putting its efforts into its search dominance. Also one surprising thing - I thought that Yahoo is powered by Inktomi and MSN is powered by Yahoo - why then MSN and Yahoo differ so much in their results? Looks like Ask and Yahoo kind of returned similar results to the same query.

Dude,

Any comments on CEO Eric Scmidt being appointed as a board member of Apple? Do you see any strategic challenges to Microsoft's domination, or is this just window dressing?

Dude! I only know as much as you know but let me give some opinions on my own - I don't think Google's motive in this is to challenge Microsoft. Google's goal is to develop applications that are innovative and that people can use them with ease - more important make it available online - thats Google's mission right - to make all media searchable and accessible online. Google's policy is "Don't be evil" - so their aim is not against Microsoft - Google does not work that way! Google's policy is - Give the users what they want and all else will follow! Even with the release of any application that counters MS products - Google has made it clear that it is not releasing it to replace MS products - it is merely giving the user another way to get things done - if it is the innovative way and the user decides to keep using that then its not Google's problem that MS could not deliver it! Isn't it? Apple is very innovative in its products (IPod is the classic example) so having Eric Schmidt might help both the companies - who knows - I doubt if I can even come close in commenting on the strategic ideas they had in store when they made the announcement. So lets hope the best wins the battle and that the customers are happy.

Check out this video and you will understand how Google operates!

So Google never does anything for window dressing - it always seeks innovation in its products and deals!
